Trump does not want war with Iran. However, Trump is willing to flex his muscle and posture, to create urgency and force Iran to bend the knee.
This is power politics, and Trump is not afraid to use the power of being POTUS. If he has leverage, he is going to use it.
So for those of you screaming that Trump wants war with Iran, you are mistaken. Trump wants Iran to make a deal about ending their nuclear program, and is exercising his leverage, which is power.
The same can be said for Greenland and Canada. Trump is not going to invade Greenland or Canada. He is applying maximum pressure and posturing, to create a sense of urgency, which forces negotiations and grants Trump leverage.
