⚡️ Comment by Russia’s Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on the death of Lieutenant General Yaroslav Moskalik

💬 On the morning of April 25, 2025, an explosion involving a civilian vehicle occurred in the town of Balashikha, Moscow Region, resulting in the death of **Lieutenant General Yaroslav Moskalik, **Deputy Head of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

An operational investigative team is presently at the scene of the crime. Its findings indicate that the explosion was caused by a homemade improvised explosive device, which was laden with shrapnel. A criminal case has been initiated and is being handled by the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

There is reason to suspect that Ukrainian special services are complicit in this assassination, particularly considering that they have known Lieutenant General Moskalik since his involvement in the Minsk Contact Group and the Normandy Format which were dedicated to resolving the conflict in southeastern Ukraine.

Should the investigation substantiate Ukrainian involvement in this case, it will once again** reveal to the international community the barbaric and treacherous nature of the Kiev regime,** which continues to escalate military confrontation with Russia, all the while recklessly ignoring constructive proposals aiming to achieve a peaceful resolution to the conflict.

◾️ We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased.
