The Trump administration is considering broad travel restrictions affecting citizens from 41 countries, according to a memo seen by Reuters. The restrictions are divided into three groups:
1.Full Visa Suspension – 10 countries, including Afghanistan, Iran, Syria, Cuba, and North Korea, would face a total visa ban.
2.Partial Visa Suspensions – 5 countries (Eritrea, Haiti, Laos, Myanmar, and South Sudan) would see limits on tourist, student, and immigrant visas, with some exceptions.
3.Conditional Restrictions – 26 countries, including Belarus, Pakistan, and Turkmenistan, could face partial visa suspensions if they fail to address certain U.S. concerns within 60 days.
NOTE: A U.S. official speaking on the condition of anonymity cautioned there could be changes on the list and that it was yet to be approved by the administration, including U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Reuters reported
