ICYMI — In FBI Director Kash Patel’s first interview since his confirmation, he made it clear: “The priority of the FBI and DOJ is the truth and serving the American people, to safeguard our citizenry and way of life.”

After the politicization of the old FBI under James Comey and Christopher Wray, President Trump’s goal was to restore public trust in the Bureau.

Patel has been laser-focused on law enforcement and restoring credibility and trust with the American people.

FBI Director Kash Patel said: “In order to do that, you need a strong Department of Justice. The FBI reports to the DOJ. The FBI does not make prosecutorial decisions; the FBI investigates based on lawful predications; anywhere the facts lead the Bureau. The FBI and DOJ are collaborating to set the new foundation to restore trust through the chain of command.

“Out of the 38,000 employees at the FBI, 11,000 are in the 50-mile radius Capital region. One-third of the crime is not happening in this region. One of the priorities is to reorient those resources and send agents, analysts, and SOS operatives into the field to take on the violent crime explosion that’s occurred in the last 5 years. Every state, county, and town needs proper security through the correct force.”

Patel continued: “We are not ignoring national security, we shifting with the threat dynamic: narco-drug trafficking and violence including sex trafficking, fentanyl and heroin overdoses, gang murders and rape. Every 7 minutes in this country, an American overdosed on a drug. Every 6.5 minutes a woman or child is raped. Twice an hour in this country, an individual is lost due to homocide. That is violent crime out of control and a national security crises.”

The FBI Director added that the intersection of illegal aliens and violent crimes against children is a paramount issue for the FBI and DOJ that they are assisting the DHS with as well.
